[PHOTO LINK BELOW] At least 7 Williamsburg homes have been burglarized in the past 2 weeks, and Williamsburg Shomrim (WSPU) were working to have the suspect stopped. The man was also stealing from local stores early in the morning – before they opened. A partial description, and license plate were all they had.
On Tuesday afternoon, a Shomrim member saw a vehicle driving down a street matching the description.
They began to follow his vehicle, while the NYPD was notified.
The suspect was stopped a few blocks away by officers of the 90th pct, and a quick inspection of the vehicle saw lots of items which had been stolen from homes in the past 2 weeks. Also in his possession was a large machete, and tools used to break into homes.
He was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of a dangerous weapon.
WSPU thanks the officers from the 90th Pct – most notably Deputy Inspector Kemper for working closely with the community to bring crime down as low as possible.
