Feds Recall Children’s Jewelry

Federal regulators are expanding their investigation into children’s jewelry that contains the toxic metal cadmium.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled 19,000 “Best Friends” charm bracelet sets made in China. Authorities say the heart lock charms on the bracelets contain high levels of cadmium.

So far no injuries have been reported.

The bracelets were sold exclusively at Claire’s stores nationwide from February 2009 through January 2010 for about $12. Anyone who bought a bracelet can return it to the store.
