N.J. Residents Want Alcohol In Groceries

A majority of New Jersey residents said they would like to be able to buy alcohol in supermarkets, a report in the Press of Atlantic City said.

Currently, only two stores within a chain can sell liquor, limiting access across the state, according to the report. But a Monmouth University poll suggests 76 percent of people who buy alcohol would like supermarkets to sell it, and 56 percent of all residents support the idea, the report said. But some small businesses told the newspaper it would ruin their business.
