“I applaud Reverend Sharpton’s national campaign to overturn Arizona’s new anti-immigrant law. Governor Brewer has essentially legalized racial profiling, a move that will force hard-working immigrants to live in the shadows. I urge groups in New York City and across the nation to join Reverend Sharpton’s campaign to overturn this discriminatory law. In the coming weeks, I will work with local groups and elected officials to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform that is effective and protects the civil rights of all people living in America.”
