President Barack Obama will address the nation next Tuesday about Afghanistan policy from the US Military Academy at West Point.

The president’s address will talk to the future Army officers in an 8 p.m. address.

His press secretary told reporters at the White House that the country has been there for nine years. “We’re not going to be there another eight or nine years.”

It is expected the president will announce the addition of between 20,000 and 40,000 more troops infused into Afghanistan, bringing to 100,000 the number of American troops there.
