An early morning water main break has shut down part of Victory Boulevard in the Travis section of Staten Island.
The break occurred after 4 a.m. Wednesday morning in front of 3945 Victory Boulevard near Towers Lane and Church Avenue.
As of 6 a.m., the water could still be seen gushing from the busted pipe. The Department of Environmental Protection was en route to the scene.
The streaming water could be seen flooding side streets and making its way outwards to surrounding areas.
Numerous residents in the area awoke to little or no water pressure.
According to the FDNY, no damage has occurred to neighboring buildings.
