Police have reopened all lanes of the Bruckner Expressway after shutting both sides down due to a major accident, CBS 2 reports.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Thursday after police began a pursuit of a driver in a white Infiniti traveling northbound on the Bruckner in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. The pursuit apparently caused an accident between other vehicles near White Plains Road.

It’s not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the wreck, but officials are reporting multiple injuries. The perpetrator was not involved in the accident and is still being pursued by officers.

It’s believed police began chasing the suspect after reports of a possible shooting.
