Emergency Responders To Hold Drill In Lower Manhattan

First responders are set to hit the streets of Lower Manhattan today.

The Office of Emergency Management and the Port Authority are holding a drill to practice the city’s response to a simulated emergency.

The drill is set to run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

City officials say people south of Chambers Street to Vesey Street may see first responders out in force during that time.

It says the effect on traffic should be minimal, and the PATH station at the World Trade Center will remain open.

First responders have practiced emergency drills since after the September 11th attacks.
