Divers have found the engine that broke off a US Airways jetliner when it crash-landed in the Hudson River last week. Police in New York and New Jersey and federal marine agents used sonar equipment to search the Hudson for the left engine of Flight 1549. The sonar detected an object 16 feet long and 8 feet wide in about 60 feet of water north of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum on Tuesday afternoon. New York City and State Police say divers confirmed Wednesday around 3 p.m. that it was the plane’s engine.
