A grand jury in Queens has indicted two undercover New York City police officers on charges including conspiracy, unlawful imprisonment and official misconduct.
Police officers Henry Tavarez, 27, of New York City, and Stephen Andersen, 33, of Long Island, turned themselves into police Thursday morning.
The Queens District Attorney’s office says the cops were involved in an undercover drug sting last year at an Elmhurst bar. Four men are alleged to have been falsely accused of selling cocaine to the officers.
The accused police officers face up to nine years in state prison if convicted.
