3:10PM EST: An accident between two school buses on the Grand Central Parkway caused a major traffic backup Monday and injured 20 children and adults, according to authorities.

The accident happened on the westbound Grand Central, near the Little Neck Parkway.

The FDNY said that 16 children and four adults have been hurt, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear. Rescue crews brought the injured to Northshore Manhattan Hospital.
