A wind advisory is in effect until 3 a.m. Sunday for parts of the New York area. The high winds are causing delays at airports. Winds could have gusts over 40 mph in some areas. A storm system will also mean heavy showers Saturday evening. Heavy showers and thunderstorms to hit New York City, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Range, Passaic, Union and Westchester and Putnam counties. The storm system is expected to move through the area through 11 p.m.
