10:15AM EST: Dow Jones industrials opened sharply lower Friday, adding to yet another global sell-off on concerns that even low interest rates won’t help end the worsening credit crisis. The Dow plunged more than 700 points in early going Friday, falling below 8,000 points.
As of this posting (10:15AM), the markets are on a rally – recovering all losses with the Dow at +28.35.

Hellinism, Capitalism, Zionism have come and went. Some even credit them as Avoda Zara. The Rambam says anything that interferes with service of G.d is Avoda Zara. So whats todays Avoda Zara? Money, however if one recognises that it flows from G.d and uses it in “the right way” then thats not a problem. We have to understand that the economy is not in the hands of the Federal Reserves and the US Treasury. Its in G.d’s hands. They themselves even declare that, as our dollars state, “In G.d We Trust!”
I don’t think it’s worthwhile to make posts like this on such volatile days.
11:02: Dow is down 244.68
I don’t know why you keep feeling the need to post articles about the dow jones and the likes. Who cares? At the end of the day, Hashem rules what a person’s parnassah will be. Not the Dow Jones, not the NYSE, and not a recession.
The numbers can go up and down, but it is really not newsworthy on this site. So long as you are doing your hishtadlus for parnassah, the rest is up to Hashem, and there is not a thing we can do about it, just have emunah.
Editors Response: So next time there is R”L a bus bombing, we won’t bother posting it. Just have emunah….
well said editor! thanks for the great choice in regard to what to post!!!!!!!
but whats the amount of time that it takes 4 a comment to post?
