7:15PM EST: New Jersey State Police have shut down the Garden State Parkway north-bound at mile marker 98 for a fatal accident investigation – just as the busy end to the Labor Day weekend was reaching its peak. The incident (possibly a pedestrian struck) remains under investigation at this time. Massive delays are expected, and motorists are urged to use alternate routes.
