1:10PM EST: The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for counties across the entire tri-state region. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect in New York City until 8 p.m. The watch was also issued for Nassau County on Long Island, as well as Putnam, Orange, Rockland, and Westchester counties.
