4:05PM EST: U.S. stocks rose for a second day, led by commodities producers, after a private report showed an unexpected increase in jobs and oil prices rebounded from an almost three-month low.
The S&P500 Index added 10.55 points, or 0.8 percent, to 1,273.75 at 2:43 p.m. in New York, building on yesterday’s 2.3 percent advance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 87.45, or 0.8 percent, to 11,485.01. The Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 7.57 to 2,312.05.
