The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Mid-Hudson Valley from this afternoon through this evening.A period of moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms is expected ahead of a cold front with one to two inches of rainfall expected. Locally higher amounts are expected.

The combination of rainfall and runoff will result in urban flash flooding, especially along low lying areas, the NWS said.  Melting snow because of near-record temperatures will add to the flow.
