Coming Not-So-Soon: Northern Jerusalem Bus Station

A new bus station is planned for northern Jerusalem, a project undertaken by the Transportations Ministry and the Jerusalem Municipality. The additional station is being constructed in Ramot, in the Golda Commercial Center. Once completed, housing a large bus parking lot too, the station will contribute significantly to reducing traffic in the entrance of the city.

What is no less important is there will be sufficient parking for 250 buses, which will significantly reduce the number parked near the entrance to the city. the terminal will feed to 11 platforms, with the latter serving local and inter-city bus lines.

The station will sit on 25 acres (6.25 acres) and it carries a price tag of 350 million shekels. The parking lot is supposed to be completed by 2020 and the actual station, a year later in 2021.

Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz calls the project another component “of the transportation revolution”.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat praised the project and Transportation Minister Katz, citing the new station will alleviate traffic and improve quality of life for northern residents.

  1. “in Ramot, in the Golda Commercial Center” there is no such animal in Ramot, maybe you mean Kinyan Ramot? But there is no room there either. Maybe you mean the junction between Ramat Shlomo and Ramot? That is were they are working?
