Narrowsburg – Emergency personnel are on the Delaware River, and searching for an 18-year-old who went under while trying to swim across the river at approximately 7:00PM, Wednesday evening.
Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty says that the missing swimmer is an assistant scout master, and a resident of Brooklyn, NY. He was with three friends and said he would try and swim across the river from the New York side to the Pennsylvania side – near the Ten Mile River Scout Camp. According to his friends, he made it about a third of the way, and then reportedly went under. His friends tried to save him, but were unsuccessful.
