A Metro-North train suffered a minor derailment shortly after leaving Grand Central station during the evening rush hour.
The first two cars on the 6 p.m. train on the Hudson Line derailed shortly after the train left Grand Central Station.
Some passengers on the train, bound for Croton-Harmon, remained stuck for more than an hour.
Passengers said the air conditioning was not working and that they suffered through suffocating heat while awaiting word on what happened and help from authorities. The FDNY and members of the NYPD Emergency Services Unit helped evacuate the trains.
