The New York Mets have accused a kosher hot dog firm of surreptitiously recording conversations between executives at concessions giant Aramark—and then employing a cover-up to hide the tapes from a federal judge.
Kosher Sports Inc. counters that the tapes prove the Mets violated a court order by trying to knock the vendor out of the park.
The tapes emerged as the latest wrinkle in a yearlong legal battle pitting the Mets against Kosher Sports, which hawks its glatt-kosher dogs at Citi Field from pushcarts located on the stadium’s lower levels.
Kosher Sports—headed by former Wall Street trader Jonathan Katz—sued after claiming they were barred from selling on Friday nights and Saturday, when attendance tends to be higher. The Mets point out such sales violate the Jewish Sabbath.

Why are the Jews trying to sell on Shabbos and the Mets trying to protect Shabbos?
Shouldn’t it be the other way around?
who if anyone is giving a Hescher here?
Why would any frum person buy from a place that wants to cook and sell food on Shabbos. The Mets may not have a legal right to throw them out but the religious Jews who are buying their food should insist on truly kosher food as any food cooked on shabbos becomes usar.
They are under Star-K which woldn’t allow them open on Shabbos. Also, I emailed the company and they deny opening (or wanting to open) on Shabbos. They run the kosher concession at a good many stadiums (New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Miami).
Perhaps YWN might try to find something from a more reputable source (rather than the New York Post)? It seems something is missing from the article. Perhaps they are arguing they have the right to sublet their “space” to someone?
Akuperma,
Even to sublet on Shabbos would be an issue. Forget the cooking on Shabbos which in itself is an issue on many fronts such as who lit the fires and who is watching etc. So subleasing is definitely not in order.
Also if you are saying that they (the company) did not want to open on Shabbos than I ask why is there an issue here? Who is wanting to open the stand on Shabbos?
