A robber wanted in connection with seven street and subway robberies is still on the loose.
Police say the suspect follows victims from the train to the street or the subway platform, engages them in conversation, and then pulls out a gun or a knife. The suspect steals the victims’ electronic devices and flees.
The suspect has robbed victims in the 1st, 5th, 19th 20th, and 28th precincts. He began his robbing spree on February 23, when he stole a cell phone from an 18-year-old male at West 127th Street.
The suspect stole cell phones and iPods from victims on six other occasions. All of the victims have been men younger than 19. The suspect has been seen carrying a switchblade knife and a black firearm.
The last robbery occurred March 30, when the suspect showed a black handgun to a 16-year-old victim on Broadway and East Houston Street before taking the victim’s cell phone.
