[PHOTO LINK BELOW] The Chief Borough Commander of Barnet Police Force, Neil Basu was an honoured visitor at Pardes House Grammar School this week.
The visit, which was arranged by Gavriel Ost, Coordinator of Shomrim NW London, was designed to provide the Police Chief with an insight into Charedi Kehilla and to demonstrate how the boys are given a sound education, at the same time adhering to our mesorah. This facilitates their protection from the negative and harmful influences of the outside world.
Mr Basu who was posted to Barnet as Borough Commander in June 2009, paid tribute to the school and education it provides as well as to the Kehilla at large. He said that in his many years of experience working with different communities, he found the Jewish Community highly respectful and law-abiding and added that there are many valuable lessons to be learnt from the Orthodox Jewish Community.
After meeting the Menahel Rabbi Dovid Dunner and the Deputy Menahel Rabbi Eli Segal, Mr Basu walked around the school and spoke to some of the boys.
The meeting did much to consolidate the close relationship between the Kehilla and the Police. The sterling work of Shomrim NW London and Pardes House Grammar School did much to show their role as ambassadors of the Kehilla and Jewish Education.
