Washington, DC – Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-17) issued the following statement in response to the murder of the Fogel family in Gaza by Palestinian terrorists. The family, both parents and three of their children (including a three- month-old baby) were stabbed to death in their home and discovered by their 12-year-old daughter and two other children.
“The cold-blooded murder of this family, the killing of children, is an act of depravity that must be strongly condemned. It is the height of cowardice which makes anyone of good conscience scream at the injustice. This despicable act not only destroyed this one family by ending five lives and traumatizing the remaining children, but it rocked the already-shaky situation in the Middle East.
“Far too many nations in the world have been quick to condemn Israel for every action it has taken in recent years, but have been notable for their silence when this family was butchered. If the roles were reversed, the outrage would be deafening.
“I am especially appalled that within 24 hours of these lives being mourned, Palestinians publicly celebrated the memory of a terrorist who killed 37 people in 1978, including 13 children. Until they stop committing these acts of violence, and then glorifying the criminals who commit them, there is little hope of ever achieving peace. I can only hope that one day we will live in a time where these terrible acts are a thing of the past, and viewed with horror by future generations of Israelis, the Palestinians, the U.N. and the world.”

Unfortunately Rep. Eliot Engel doesn’t understand that the world hates Jews. Hashem is crying for us to stop feuding among ourselves and resolve our difference, because at the end of the day Jews can only count on one another…History has been a horrible reminder of this fact.
“the murder of the Fogel family in GAZA”???
Who wrote this article? It was not in Gaza! Thanks to the Israeli government there are not (at present) any Jews in Gaza.
This occurred in Itamar in the Shomron.
עשו שונא את יעקב
This is the bottom line.
In Gaza??? Mods, please fix that quick.
This is his way of having us try ans forget that he votes with Obama almost 99 percent of the time.
Thanks for nothing!
“murder of the Fogel family in Gaza by Palestinian terrorists.”
they lived in Gaza?
I have also been wondering about this. The silence is deafening.
I don’t get this partisan bickering,
If a democrat didn’t say anything (while Beck does) you would say “you’re not hearing this from any democrat” and now that a Democrat says something it’s like “who cares he votes with Obama 99% of the time” they never win with you
@Mark Levin
Do you not respect what he says at all? His statement isn’t a political one. It transcends political lines with a message of respect for the injustice that is being done with Israel. If only we had more like him. As a matter of fact, we have plenty of Conservative Republicans in Congress. Where are they now?
AinOhdMilvado says: Thanks to the Israeli government there are not (at present) any Jews in Gaza.
I guess you also forgot about Gilad Shalit!
9. Yes I respect what he has to say but I know liberals and he is one. It makes not one blasted bit of a difference what he says because in the scheme of things he is a “lowly” Congress person. It would be nice if the president Barack Hussein Obama mmmm mmmm mmmm said something worthwhile and followed up against the animals but alas the bully with no backbone is out golfing again or making his NCAA picks.
