Mayor Bloomberg apparently was in Bermuda as the Christmas blizzard approached, and one of his corporate planes was the last small plane to land at LaGuardia Airport as the storm intensified.
The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that a jet belonging to Bloomberg Services took off for Bermuda on Christmas morning and returned to New York just before 3 p.m. on Dec. 26.
The mayor’s jet was the last private plane to land at La Guardia that day as the historic blizzard started to pound the city, according to Federal Aviation Administration records obtained by the Journal.
Bloomberg appeared at a storm-related press conference that afternoon. He was later harshly criticized for the city’s dismal failure to deal with the massive storm.
The billionaire mayor, who chafes at reports of his jet-set ways, often takes weekend trips on his fleet of private jets, but rarely tells reporters where he goes.
His planes flew to Bermuda, where Bloomberg owns a home, 16 times last year, according to FAA records.
The records do not include passenger lists, so it cannot be determined for certain if Bloomberg was personally on board any of the flights, including the Christmas weekend one.

HEADLINE: Bloomberg Was On Last Plane To Land As Blizzard Intensified
ARTICLE: The records do not include passenger lists, so it cannot be determined for certain if Bloomberg was personally on board.
Irresponsible and misleading reporting. I expect better standards from a Heimisha publication.
Moderators Response: Bloomberg owns and operates his own private jet.
Moderator. The source for YOUR headline is NOT the NY Daily News. It is YWNs extrapolation of information gleaned from the Daily News. The Daily News is NOT reporting he was on the plane, even if one may want to draw that conclusion.
This is the Daily News headline for the story you cite.
“Mayor Bloomberg’s plane was last small plane to land at LGA as Christmas blizzard intensified”
I very much enjoy YWN. It is great that we have a “clean” source of news.
The source for the above article was the NY Daily News. The NY Daily News Headline was: Mayor Bloomberg’s plane was last small plane to land at LGA as Christmas blizzard intensified.
YWN CHANGED the headline to: Bloomberg Was On the Last Plane to Land As Blizzard Intensified.
The NY Daily news didn’t try to mislead anyone. Why would YWN, a Heimishe news source, go out of their way to change a headline and try to mislead its readers?
Please keep in mind that every headline gets read but not every article. The headline could be catchy but never should it be misleading. Furthermore, YWM should hold itself to a higher standard than the Daily News.
