Saudi Arabia has threatened to prop up President Mubarak if the White House tries to force a swift change of regime in Egypt. In a testy personal telephone call on January 29, King Abdullah told President Obama not to humiliate Mr Mubarak and warned that he would step in to bankroll Egypt if the US withdrew its aid programme, worth $1.5 billion annually.
America’s closest ally in the Gulf made clear that the Egyptian President must be allowed to stay on to oversee the transition towards peaceful democracy and then leave with dignity.
“Mubarak and King Abdullah are not just allies, they are close friends, and the King is not about to see his friend cast aside and humiliated,” a senior source in the Saudi capital told The Times.
Two sources confirmed details of the King’s call, made four days after the people of Egypt took to the streets.

It is the right thing to do and not throw him under the bus
You bet! Guess who’s next!
Just look at the hypocrisy of the worlds do good preachers. The day Ben-Ali had his down fall the world jumped in to freeze all his assets. Where were they until now? Did they not know his assets were stolen from his people? Why isn’t the world freezing the assets of The kings of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Moroco, Bernei, Syrian president, Palestinian president, Arafats assets, etc?!!!!
Obama was WRONG! His words created a lot more chaos in Egypt than was necessary. Our ManChild is simply UNDER qualified as if anyone didnt know that.
At least the King of Saudi Arabia stands by his friends in time of need. President Obama has no friends except for the Moslems who want to take over the world. Israel beware of the President of the US, Egypt has been an ally for many years and look how the US treated its leaders, Obama would only relish the ability to do the same to Israel. Our only true ally is H”B and we must rely solely on him and no human for salvation from our enemies
3: The funny thing is, in all of your posts, you scream and yell about Obama is wrong and unqualified, and call lots of names. Yet, you never provide reasons WHY. I guess you chose your moniker for a reason…
And I love how you all seem to forget that the Saudis are no friends of ours either…
