The NYPD has informed YWN that effective immediately all cars that are parked illegally – that means in crosswalks, at pumps, bus stops OR on the main road of Ocean Parkway will be ticketed and towed to the closest legal spot in order to clear the streets. If you do not want your care to be ticketed and towed YWN suggests that you move them ASAP.
Dozens of vehicles are hindering the snow-plowing effort.

Why would they b ticketed?
Of course they will rush out to ticket and tow them!!!
They have to make up for all the lost revenue from the suspended ticketing this week for expired meters and alternate side parking!!!

It’s about time. No other city would allow the careless parking that has hindered both street cleaning and traffic flow. Anywhere else these cars would have been towed the first day.
Cedarhurst, that’s not true. If necessary, they are absolutely allowed to tow a car that is not ticketed. Especially, it it’s “to the closest legal spot.”
i don’t care what people’s excuses were there is no excuse for parking on ocean parkway and leaving the car there for 3 days! their excuses ran out 2 days ago!

This is ridiculous! I saw three NYPD tow trucks driving together today just looking for cars to tow. This is not right of the city since it is because of them that most of the cars didn’t have legal places to park in the first place due to their lousy clean-up!
The snow is over the car’s on ocean parkway should move or it’s going to be moved by someone else you don’t want.
