The Philadelphia Health Department is warning about an outbreak of mumps at a school in Overbrook.

19 cases of mumps have been reported at Talmudical Yeshiva of Philadelphia.

The Yeshiva is located on Drexel Road off City Avenue.

The ill students had recently visited an out-of-state school where there was also a mumps outbreak.

  1. 1, Thank you for showing the entire world how uninformed you are. The FACTS are that they were immunized. I know a number of people who have contracted mumps since the outbreak & EACH AND EVERY ONE had the correct vaccines so your comment shows ignorance. In the philly case, a number of boys are children of doctors who will forget more medical info than you will ever know. So please take your ignorance elsewhere.

  2. My son B”H learns in Philly and unfortunately got the mumps. A 9th grader had brought it from Telshe Cleveland after Sukkos. My son has gotten every immunization but he got the mumps anyway. The Yeshiva is doing a great job keeping the outbreak to a minimum and my son was back in Yeshiva (per our Doctor’s instructions) 3 days later and Shteiging away.
