A man was shot by a police officer this morning, shortly after he allegedly broke the windshield of a police car in Brooklyn.
An on-duty New York City Police Department officer saw the man smash a cobblestone into the windshield and driver’s-side window of a police car, which was parked in front of a NYPD building on the Shore Parkway and Brighton 3rd Street.
When the officer approached, a struggle ensued – and the officer shot the man in the left shoulder.
The suspect is being treated at Lutheran Hospital. The officer was taken to Coney Island Hospital for injuries to his hand and head. They are both expected to recover.
Charges against the man have not yet been filed.
