The Mexico Police said Friday that two suspects have been arrested in the murder of Israeli businessman Moshe Aroch and his daughter Sapir in their apartment in Mexico City last month. The two are expected to be indicted later in the day.
The district attorney said the suspects were Aroch’s driver, Adiel Sanchez, and his nephew, Jesus Gonzales. Sanchez is suspected of planning the murder due to hid dissatisfaction with the way Aroch treated him, and persuading his nephew to help him for money.
The Mexican authorities noted, however, that all leads were still being looked into, including the possibility that the double murder was ordered by a different element who gave Sanchez a large sum in return.
According to the investigation, Sanchez stabbed Aroch and his daughter to death with a double-bladed knife.”
Before the arrests were made, the police looked into suspicions that the murder was in revenge for the activity of Aroch’s other daughter, Ortal, in the police, where she served as a secret agent and managed to frame dozens of drug dealers.
During the investigation, the Mexico Police also arrested Aroch’s son Moshe, but released him after a short interrogation and polygraph test. Maor lived with his family in Mexico and since the murder has been at the side of his 12-year-old sister, who was the one who discovered the bodies in the apartment.
