Steven M. Mayer, 65 has been missing since Monday and has not been heard of since, as was reported first by YWN last week.
Searches over the last week have been ended with no results,and as a result organizations such as Shomrim, Chaverim, Hatzolah are all coordinating a massive search for tomorrow morning on a specific area. Search and rescue professionals from these Organizations have asked for help in bringing as many volunteers as possible to Riverhead, NY tomorrow for a detailed walking grid search.
If you cannot participate in the walking search we ask that you still come to help as there will be other tasks such as handing out flyers and driving around the area.
The search will begin at 9 am tomorrow morning and continue throughout the day. You can arrive at any time during the day.
There will be a Shacharis Minyan for those that need at 9:30 All volunteers are requested to report to the staging area at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS HOTEL SUITES EAST END1707 Old Country Road Route 58 Riverhead, NY 11901. Please dress comfortably and wear good walking shoes.
Also please bring enough food and water for the day. Since Riverhead is the only solid lead, our experts believe that our continued concentrated efforts there hold the best hope.
If anyone has any specialized equipment such as ATV, boats, connections to caterers for food that would also be helpful as per the organizers, and should call 347-927-7701.

When is the search? The date of the article is Sunday October 10th – Since this article was posted just after midnight, does it mean that the search is Sunday or Monday?

Have you ever been talking to someone at 12:30 am motzei Shabbos(wich is just after midnight!) and he said to you we will be in touch tomorrow morning? does that sound like he means Monday Morning??????? A comment blog is supposed to be for comments not to type your thought process.

I was half asleep when I read the YWN post and misunderstood the meaning of ‘tomorrow’. Having no one to ask at that hour, I thought YWN might answer my post instead of posting it. By the time I was awake enough to realize that OF COURSE they would mean Sunday, it was too late to retract the post.
We are all Yidden struggling to be better and to do better – not to do better than anyone else, or be better than anyone else, but to do better than ourselves and to be better than we already are. You are correct in pointing out to me that I am not perfect, and I am sorry that my post offended you. Can we be updated on this story? Where is the search going on now? Are all the orgs. still there–Shomrim, Chaverim, etc.? Are they still looking for volunteers or other help? I read they are still focusing on Riverhead…
