Bloomberg Makes Video Pushing NY To Legalize Same Gender Marriage

Mayor Bloomberg — who has no problem telling New Yorkers not to smoke, gobble trans fats or sprinkle too much salt on their food — insists, “Government shouldn’t tell you who to love or who to marry,” in a pro-Toeiva marriage Internet video released yesterday.

“I’m Mayor Mike Bloomberg, I’m a New Yorker and I support equality,” the mayor says at the beginning of the video, released by the Human Rights Campaign, a Washington, DC-based group hoping to get Albany to legalize same-gender marriage.

Following his introduction is a shot of City Hall with the words, “New Yorkers Support Full Marriage Equality. Do You?” superimposed over the building.

It ends with Bloomberg — who is currently mulling an extended smoking ban that would include parks, beaches, boardwalks, and pedestrian plazas — saying, “Because government shouldn’t tell you who to love or who to marry.”

Bloomberg has spoken in favor of the Legislature passing a bill to legalize same-gender marriage, and criticized the state Senate for defeating the measure by a 38-24 margin last December.

  1. Isnt it “funny” that just now in Parshas Noach when Hashem finally gave up on the world a destroyed it because they finally legalized same gender marraige (Hitiru Ksubos bein Ish l’ish, ubein Ish L’beheima) that till now it was done illegally they could do teshuva but once its legl there nothing wrong anymore to do teshuva for, That out own “Jewish” mayor would support and condone such a thing?

Its the same old story. Our worst enemies are……

  2. A chutzpah nora’ah.

He is not too religious and lives with a nisht Yiddishe froi, so it’s not surprising that he advocates for toeivah, but this is another low point for him.

He is the grandson of a Rav, let him wake up and do teshuvoh!

  3. With all his billions, he seems to be on a power trip.
Making this video, it seems to me at least, is part of a play for P.R. on a national level, i.e. of hopes for a national political future.

  4. let all the “askanim” who want to support this man next time he runs for public office remember that Rabbi Avigdor Miller- the modern day Avrohom Avinu (R’ mattisyahu Solomon’ words) always advocated that to support a candidate you must look at what he stands for morally.

  5. it is always a mistake to make a deal with leftism. its making a deal with the devil. all leftsim does is create ways to divide and collect votes, feminism, gay rights, vegans, etc… they make up and create idols and lies on route to their agenda. there needs to be a way to charge them with the crime. leftism is only benifiting one group of people world wide and it isnt jews.
there is never a good reason to shake hands with the left, its always their victory every time.
