Authorities on Wednesday were looking for the person who left a message on a plane lavatory mirror indicating a bomb was on board.
The threatening message was found scrawled on a Thai Airways flight en route from Bangkok to Los Angeles.
Flight 794 landed landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday (12 a.m. ET Wednesday). It was taken to a remote area where it was met by police, the Transportation Security Administration said.
“Investigators who conducted a thorough search of the aircraft, luggage and cargo, found no evidence to suggest a credible threat to the aircraft existed,” said Laura Eimiller of the FBI’s Los Angeles office.
No arrests have been made.
The message was found written on a mirror in the plane’s lavatory, the TSA said.
After the plane landed, bomb technicians and canine units were called to the scene. The plane’s passengers and crew were interviewed. Authorities also rescreened luggage, Eimiller said.
