[Audio link below] House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday. She told San Francisco’s KCBS radio:
“There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said. “How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we’ve been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City.” (h/t Kristinn)
Calls to investigate the funding for those proposing the $100 million “Cordoba House” have fallen on deaf ears, though, as New York’s Mayor Mike Bloomberg has described such an investigation as “un-American.”
Ms. Pelosi called the Ground Zero mosque an “urban development decision” for New Yorkers to work through. Her remarks happened on the heels of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, parting ways with President Barack Obama on the issue. Mr. Reid suggested the mosque should be built somewhere else.

It always amazes me how the idiocy of American politicians is a carbon copy of the idiocy of Israeli politicians.
Both care more about “political correctness” than what is good for the country.
The U.S. has a Pelosi, Israel has a Barak, etc., etc., etc.
The U.S. cares more about illegal Mexicans than the harm they do to the economy, crime situation, etc.
Israel cares more about harming “innocent palestinians” than endangering our own Jewish boys in the IDF.

What is her problem? Is there any crime she is accusing them of? Since when is opposing a mosque project a crime?

Would not be a crime, frumeyid (#2) – but it would interesting if funding for the opposition to the mosque came from either partisan political sources or known hate groups.
Isn’t this the same as what the opponents of the mosque did? They investigated the sponsers.

Investigate those who are against the Mosque like the families who suffer and who are suffering from 9-11 but not to investiage where the $100,000, 000 is coming from. Remember the best defense is an ofense. This is one sick puppy and as sick as she is needs to be put DOWN. SHe must be removed from politics once and for all. This remember is the sick puppy who said you need to VOTE FOR “OBAMACARE” to see what is inside. People did and they are shock. Thanks to her our health care premiums are rising.

i actually noticed a great place to build a mosque near ground zero as i was treating the wounded and hurt on 9/11.
I think its a wonderful idea to investigate the source of money, from both sides.

What do Mexicans have to do with the proposed mosque?
Hopefully, Pelosi will soon be out as Speaker when the Democrats lose the House, as expected. Remember, Pelosi spouts only the “politically correct” line.
