Ferndale, NY – Seven girls at Camp Machaneinu were taken to the hospital on Monday evening following a bike accident.
Catskills Hatzolah had recieved calls for seven patients who were struck by a vehicle, and fearing the worst, immediately dispatched multiple ambulances and Paramedics to the scene located on Devany Road.
Upon their arrival it was learned that they were not struck, but rather the campers were all on some type of bike designed for seven riders, which they lost control of and rolled down a hill.
A total of seven patients were transported to CRMC (Harris Hospital), all in stable condition B”H.

The reporting is out of control You wanted a scoop so you listen to hatzalah dispatcher and print anything interesting. You scared hundreds of parents for no reason.
The girls were riding a bike, the bike fell. Some drama queen girl called hatzalah. When the hatzalah came they saw everyone is okay but according to the law once they come they need to take them to the hospital so they did. They were back in camp right away. Heard this from the camp manager.
What no call for a medivac?
Tandem bikes are quite popular. You can rent them in many places.
Re: Scanning the Hatzalah frequency for “stories”. I thought only bored 12 year olds did that.
There were injuries!!
One broke a collar bone, and if I’m not mistaking, one broke a hand!!
I’m not sure this is the same thing but I’ve seen bikes for 7 they are shaped like very large golf carts and everyone pedals.

I understand that many people want to know what happened at this call, but at what expense to Camp Machaneinu, and the carnival rides company. Many people who read The Yeshiva World, send or plan on sending their children to Machaneinu. Many Frum people use the Carnival company for their events. This was just an accident, yet to these to companies immeasurable harm has been done by posting this story with pics.
