The Brooklyn district attorney’s office is fighting more than just crime these days; it’s also battling bed bugs.
Officials confirm the office is dealing with a bed bug outbreak, and employees who spoke to NY1 say they have been found on four floors of their downtown Brooklyn building. Exterminators and bed bug sniffing dogs are being brought in to sniff out the problem.
New Yorkers say the entire topic makes them uncomfortable.
“From a regular house I can understand, but a public nice building, a nice hotel; bed bugs, uh oh,” said one New Yorker.
“That’s pretty odd, an office building with bed bugs. Now you have to be careful about going into office buildings,” said another.
“It’s creepy and unsettling,” said a third.
Several hotels and retail stores in the city have also dealt with outbreaks.
