Canada Post is advising customers that it is unable to accept outgoing mail to the Gaza Strip.
In a statement to customers on Tuesday, Canada Post said it has been informed by Israel Post that mail service to the coastal Palestinian territory is unavailable “due to circumstances beyond their control.”
Canada Post does not stop delivering mail to countries or areas. Instead, countries indicate they can not receive mail for conflict or other reasons.
Canada Post said it has not been able to find alternate routes to move mail in the area.
“All Gaza-bound mail accepted by Canada Post that is undeliverable will be returned to the sender as we do not know when mail service to the area will resume,” the statement said.
Once mail service to the Gaza Strip resumes, customers will be able to mail their items at no additional charge.
It is unclear whether the service disruption is related to a blockade Israel and Egypt have imposed on Gaza since June 2007, when militant group Hamas seized control of the territory from rival Palestinian group Fatah.

A bit weird since the UPU (which has been in business for about 150 years) has managed in the past to get mail delivered between countries at war. It sounds like some people are playing “games”.
#1 I agree. And why only Canada?
Well, having followed the situation lately in Canada, Canada is a country that at the present time is not so pro-Arab. On the contrary, possibly for the first time in a long time, the federal government of Canada is pro-Israel. Therefore, I would suggest that they are using Canada Post, which is not privatized but rather a Crown-corporation, taking its cues from the federal government, to create distance between the terrorists in Gaza and their friends in Canada.
This is only a guess, mind you.
