Bedbugs have gotten under New York City government’s skin.
After a somewhat hands-off policy that left individuals and companies to handle bedbug problems on their own, the city Wednesday plans to announce an education campaign to combat the critters, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The efforts come in response to a report submitted in April by the city’s Bed Bug Advisory Board. Findings from the report also will be released Wednesday.
The report recommended a website “to serve as a central clearinghouse for information for different audiences,” said Renee Corea, cofounder of the advocacy group New York vs. Bed Bugs and a member of the advisory board.
The report also urged more public education on how to spot and get rid of the bugs.
Recent bug infestations have been found in public places, including some stores and a triage room at Kings County Hospital.

All this politics about this problem is BALONEY!
The problem IS that the environmentalists have BANNED all the chemicals that work!
No one wants to be exposed to hazardous materials but they have gone too far, and that is why this long forgotten problem has returned with a vengeance, and why it is so hard to get rid of.
The environmental wackos have to back off or this will be just the beginning of this type of problem.
