A firecracker-hot Independence Day will be capped off with a dazzling fireworks show over the Hudson River.
The 34th Annual Macy’s Fireworks show kicks off at 9:20 p.m., and an estimated 2 million viewers will be treated to 40,000 thousand shells exploding from six barges lined up end-to-end, lighting up the sky for more than a mile.
Last year the fireworks returned to the Hudson for the first time since 2000 to mark the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyage, and the show got rave reviews.
Spectators can begin staking out the perfect spot at 4:00.
In the City, the best place to watch will be along 12th Avenue, which viewers can access from 24th, 26th to 30th, 34th, 40th to 44th, 47th to 52nd, and 54th to 57th Streets.
A giant American flag flyover will start the show at 6:00 followed by an FDNY fireboat water show and an F-15 military flyover, with the fireworks as the big finisher.

Do you mean 12th Ave. in Manhattan?
1,
Of course they mean 12th Avenue (West Side Highway) in Manhattan! No one cares about 12th Avenue in Boro Park.
