It is being reported that over recent weeks, the Belzer Rebbe Shlita has been working behind the scene regarding the Emanuel Beis Yaakov and Chinuch Atzmai in General. Noted Belz askan Mordechai Brisk has been heavily involved. The Belz message is “if we do not achieve achdus amongst ourselves, what will others say about us”.
It appears that R’ Brisk’s efforts have paid off and an agreement was reached ahead of Sunday’s scheduled appearance of Chinuch Atzmai officials before the nation’s High Court of Justice.
Some officials involved in the behind-the-scenes talks thank Yoav Lalum, explaining his stir surrounding Emanuel compelled those involved to make the extra effort to reach an agreement with Chinuch Atzmai rather than once again find the chareidi chinuch beholden to the High Court for a ruling.
The agreement results in a council of 14, with the following breakdown. Agudah’s seats are divided as follows: 3 seats for Gur, 1 Vishnitz, 1 Slonim, 2 Shlomei Emunim (Porush), and the remainder from Degel.
Belz is not represented, and as many understand, the chassidus remains between a rock and a hard place – since 5749 when Belz aligned with Degel. The chassidus has not yet found its place among the other chassidim in the organization and this is also visible in the realities vis-à-vis Chinuch Atzmai. Others point out the injustice of the situation, since Belz has continued working to units all the factions and it has agreed to forgo its representation towards shalom in the chareidi camp, and today, finds itself without a place.
Gedolei Yisrael Shlita reviewed and approved the agreement on Thursday night.

This is what the belz admor does at each maclokos, his goal is achdus by klal yisroel, he went with Degel so it should not become a “chassidim/misnagdim” war.
At the last election he told eichler to give up his seat so that gur and poursh with degel can run togather.
At this machlokos he told brisk the same thing, give up our seat and bring achdus.
Its great to see his askunim in new york do the same, shia ostreicher worked for TAP, while belz sends all the boys to yeshiva gadola in israel, and won’t get a cent from TAP, some people have said he won’t do it since the fight in the 44, but they forgot that for belz it wasn’t personal.
Rav Schach,ZT”L, always said that he who gives in will never lose thereby.
The Belzer Rebbe, SHLIT”A, is a wise man, who has demostrated great wisdom and a true concern for klal Yisroel.
He has shown that he is capable of rising above petty personal considerations. Let all the other groups learn from him.
Perhaps the Belzer Rebbe Shlita should run Chinuch Atzmai?
I was on a plane yesterday with Meir porush, he told me that the Belzer rebbi was behinfd the peace between slonim and rav ovadye he worked all night motzie shabbas, and now also he gave up his seats in chinuch azmai
And negotiated peace with gur and all others.
He said that last year and always he is the one in the back of the scene and that’s why Rav elyosev and Rav steinman always ask his opinion.
Dear YWN,
Recently you posted a beutiful article by Menachem Krybus, entitled “Understanding The Emanuel Saga & The Agreement Reached” (Thursday, July 1st, 2010).
I no longer see it on your list of articles on the Emnauel case. I hope you may re-post this article, and thank you.
