IDF Responds to Multiple Mortar Shell Attacks on Thurday

The IAF has responded to numerous mortar shell attacks into southern Israel on Thursday, attacks that were launched from Hamas-occupied Gaza on Thursday. One Kassam rocket and nine mortar shells were fired into southern Israel on Thursday. Following is an official statement released by the Office of the IDF Spokesperson.

The Israel Air Force struck a weapons storage facility in the northern Gaza Strip and two terror tunnels in the southern Gaza Strip overnight. The tunnels were intended for infiltrating into Israel and executing terror attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.

The attack is in response to the mortars that were fired at Israel and hit the Shar HaNegev Regional Council yesterday.

More than 90 rockets and mortars have been fired at Israeli territory since the beginning of 2010, and over 330 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel since the end of operation Cast Lead.

The IDF remains committed to protecting the citizens of Israel and will continue to act against terror. The IDF holds Hamas solely responsible for terror emanating from the Gaza Strip.

  1. The OLD question:

If the IDF KNEW where these weapons storage facilities and infilitration tunnels were, to bomb them NOW, AFTER the recent mortar launchings, – then WHY OH WHY didn’t they bomb them UNTIL NOW?!?!?
The IDF used to know how to act PRE-emptively, now they only RE-act. – DUMB!

  2. And now… the answer to comment #1 (for those that don’t realize it on their own…)

Why doesn’t the IDF act PRE-emptively instead of AFTER the fact?
Because to the secular Israeli government, pleasing Washington is more important than Jewish blood being shed.
I.E. >> Destroying these weapons and tunnels BEFORE they result in Jewish deaths, make Israel look too aggresive (a terrible no-no). But destroying them AFTER they have been used in attacks (only b’chasdai HaSH-m that THIS time no one was injured or killed)-that gets washington’s haskama.
