Fire marshals are investigating a blaze in a chareidi community center in Haifa that erupted during the morning hours. On Friday morning, no one seemed to know if the blaze was the result of an electrical short or arson.
Three fire apparatus battled the blaze, which spread rapidly, resulting in extensive damage to the structure.
Some of the residents of the area told police that youths were detected earlier trying to break into the shul, but they were scattered by local community residents. A short time later, the fire was reported in the chareidi community center. Fire marshals were shocked to see that the entire contents of the center were destroyed in the blaze, but all that remains unscathed was a picture on a wall of the Gerrer Rebbe Shlita.
Members of the community also point out there was an attempted arson attack two weeks ago, and they blame police, for ignoring repeated attacks against the frum community, permitting continued attacks against them.
