7:30PM IL: In the past, reporting on chareidi violence and rioting was not a commonplace occurrence, but it appears the tide has changed and violence surrounding kevarim and arrests seems to be a daily event in some areas.
In Yerushalayim, as the sun began setting, it appears this is interpreted as a signal to renew violence, as about 100 people ran onto Bar Ilan Street and hundreds did the same at Kikar Shabbat. Protests are also reported at Shivtei Yisrael Street, and police have decided to wait it out, not sending troops in, but blocking Yechezkel Street and permitting the violence indiscriminate destruction of public and personal property, placing the elderly and infirmed residents, which account for many community residents, in a most difficult situation.
The protestors are decrying the desecration of kevarim in Jaffa, and demanding the release of those detained on the way to Jaffa earlier in the day.
In total, about 120 people were arrested. As of this report, the Khal Chassidim Rebbe has been released, as well as Rabbi Shmuel Shisha of Yerushalayim. There are no restrictions or conditions surrounding their release.
87 detainees who continue to refuse to identify themselves remain in detention, while 33 have identified themselves and been released.

These are the real fighters of Klal Yisroel! Just imagine if the Chashmonuim were in our times. The Jewish world would go nuts! How dare they kill people. The chashmo uim killed people! Can you imagine what would happen if this would go on today!?!? As a wise man once said so eloquintly “Im an orthodox Jew and proud as hell of it”!!!!!!!
Yes, but why are they protesting if not one Posek Hador has yet to come out and say that there was any halachic issue with the excavations?
Reply to number two. Tha gedolim did say to protest so I dont know what you are talking about.
Which Gadolim?
I live in Yerushalaim and I can tell you that these guys are making one big Chilul Hashem and I have Rachmanus especially on the people who live there who have to live with all this violence and rioting and smell smoke al day, not get there garbage collected, etc.
(At least, B”H, more and Chilonim realize that these are not what all Chareidim want and agree to (people in Yerushalaim know this, but people who live in very secular places only know what they know about Charedim from the press/TV)
