Dow Breaks Above 21,000 As Stocks Hit All-Time Highs After Trump’s Speech


dowU.S. equities kicked off Wednesday trading sharply higher, with the Dow Jones industrial average climbing above 21,000 for the first time, on the back of President Donald Trump’s speech to Congress.

The Dow advanced around 200 points with Goldman Sachs contributing the most gains. The 30-stock index first closed above 20,000 on Jan. 25.

The S&P 500 climbed 0.87 percent, with financials rising 2.3 percent to lead advancers. The Nasdaq jumped 0.83 percent.

  1. Last night’s speech by President Trump was a masterful exercise in politics. Today we see an outpouring of venom fro the world of media and democratic party circles. They don’t know what to do. The President’s words were precise, his word-smiths captured the tone and articulation that met the dignity of the Presidential office to which he was elected.

    The media hurts itself when they now complain of it’s content, delivery, presentation and sincerity. Why not back off and say” We wish you luck and G-d speed on your mission. Do they want him to fail? Best of luck Mr. Trump. You have my vote.
