The opposition has filed a petition against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu continuing to serve as Communications Minister after it was learned that he held meetings with prominent media personality Arnon Mozes. Hence, it is most likely that he will not challenge the petition but hand the ministerial post to one of his faction colleagues, possibly Minister of Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi.

The petition was filed with the High Court of Justice by opposition leader MK Yitzchak Herzog based on police reports that they have wiretaps from conversations conducted between Mr. Netanyahu and Mozes, publisher of the Yediot Achronot newspaper.
