National security adviser Michael Flynn has resigned after reports he misled Trump administration officials about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S.
Flynn’s departure less than one month into the Trump administration marks an extraordinarily early shakeup in the president’s senior team of advisers. Flynn was a loyal Trump supporter throughout the campaign, but his ties to Russia caused concern among other senior aides.
Flynn initially told Trump advisers that he did not discuss sanctions with the Russian envoy during the transition. Vice President Mike Pence, apparently relying on information from Flynn, publicly vouched for the national security adviser.
Flynn later told White House officials that he may have discussed sanctions with the ambassador.

Yasher koach and ken yirbu….next perhaps Steve Bannon, Kelly Ann Conway, followed by Sean Spicer and Rice Priebus. Overall, he has some really outstanding people in his cabinet but needs to bring in the same level of professionals to the WH staff and let go of these rabid ideologues from the campaign. The election is over, he WON, now its time to govern and stop fighting the same battles of crowd size, the crooked media, self-indulgent politicians etc.
In around 12 hours there will be something like 127 comments for this breaking news article…I’m glad to be the second
OK. So he discussed sanctions. What did he do wrong? Why must he resign? I clicked on the link “Full Story” and all I got was some hazy idea.
There is only one resignation that will make a difference, and it has not happened.
#!”crowd size, the crooked media, self-indulgent politicians”
– these are very valid concerns-the opposition was lying- not an insignificant crime, you would agree.
“Misled” properly translated means he LIED! What happened to “I’ll have all the best people”? This is a complete embarrassment to the U.S., more demonstration of the incompetence of these people.
#3, he lied about the contents of a conversation which was recorded. He lied about it to the Vice President, and then the Vice President based on the lie defended him and himself told the press a lie (inadvertently, having been deceived by Flynn). What did he do wrong? He broke the law. The USA is a nation of laws. If one of the most senior Officials in the administration can break laws with no recriminations, your nation of laws will crumble one law at a time. I’m not his biggest fan, but I have to give the President credit for taking this seriously and making clear to Flynn what he had to do.
One can only imagine that outcry from Conservative hypocrites like Hannity and O’Reily if a member of a Democratic administration had illegaly discussed sanction relief with Iran and Iraq while sanctions were still in place. Flynn is a criminal but who told him to make the call and begin the conversation?
Not a day goes by without another Trump lie or scandal.
At least he had the decency ro resign, unlike Mrs. Clinton who perjured herself countless times in congressional testimony by saying “I don’t recall, I can’t remember, I don’t recollect” etc.!
