Two Jerusalem residents, men aged 25 and 57 are in police custody; accused of assisting chareidim in getting out of military service by providing medical documentation.
The investigation began a month ago, with the arrest of the 25-year-old suspect at a protest against the draft on Rashi Street in Jerusalem, outside of the local draft office. Police searched his home and found over NIS 100,000 in cash.
Police explain chareidim seeking to avoid IDF service and are willing to pay would use the suspects who in turn connected them with psychiatrists who issued the necessary paperwork to have them released.
The suspects have been released to their homes with restrictions as the police investigation continues.

No need to provide medical documentation. Just put on a kafiya or say you’re a leftist from Shenkin-Tel Aviv and voila! you’re exempt from military service and won’t even be stripped from any financial benefits.
Leave IDF objectors alone!
Even in Torah Hashem gave exemptions for those who did not want to fight, so why are you the government harassing people who want to study Torah, as without Torah study there is absolutely NO CHANCE that you will win, stupidos!
Its time for a voluntary army
all that bocher or avrach has to do is bring in a letter from his yeshiva that he learns full time and he will get an automatic deferment that goes on until he is married and has children or is too old to go into the army.
Just do as Rav Shtienman shlita has told us to do!
