First lady Melania Trump may not move to the White House at any point, Us Weekly reported Wednesday.
“They will reevaluate toward the end of the school year if they will keep this arrangement or if Melania and Barron will move to Washington,” a family insider told the publication.
“They could go either way right now. They will ultimately do what’s best for Barron.”
In November, reports surfaced that the first lady and her son, Barron, 10, would not move to the White House immediately.
Instead, the two planned to stay in New York City so Barron could finish out the school year.
The source told Us Weekly that although Melania Trump is not in the White House, she has been “actively building her team” since her husband assumed office, including “hiring a chief of staff, a senior adviser and a social secretary, among other key positions.”
“While she is a mom first, she is very much embracing the role and responsibilities of first lady,” the source said.
When the president was asked last month about whether he was lonely not having his wife in the White House, he said: “No, because I end up working longer. And that’s OK.”

She can stay wherever she wants…just don’t ask the taxpayers to pay tens of millions of dollars for separate security in New York when we are already picking up the tab for the WH and apparently another WH in Florida. Those funds can help pay for security in inner city schools which your husband says are overrun with violence from thugs in the inner city neighborhoods.
Gadolhadorah, no that’s not correct. Any and all of their needs are necessary for them to have in order to function well, and America picks up what ever tab we need to. We should not try to inconvenience the president in the slightest way, because he needs all of the presence of mind possible and can’t be bogged down at all. That lehavdil is maybe the meaning of gadluhu mishel echov.
Tom…,
Katanhadorah is actually right ( I know blind squirrel)
Republicans (myself included) complained when obama and his wife flew separately for vacation
This is no different
TD&H raises a good point. We should want our president to function with as much presence of mind possible, and should do our part to make that happen. A few millions of dollars, or tens of millions, is relatively small money compared to huge messups he could make if he’s rattled.
At the same time, of course yesh gvul. If he had seven wives in seven villas, I don’t think the American taxpayers would be expected to pick up all the tabs. Next he’ll say he has more presence of mind when driving a Lamborghini. Would it be justified to buy him one?
If the president had a second low-key home, I think it would be reasonable to provide security for that in addition to the standard WH expenses. Maybe even if he had a somewhat high-key place that required more security. But having a massive place in Florida, and another massively-expensive-to-secure place in the middle of the busiest city in America, I don’t think taxpayers should be expected to pay for all of that. As far as we’re concerned, let him stay in the WH and make an occasional trip to Florida. It’s really stretching it to expect taxpayers to pay big money for his luxuries.
