Speaking from Amona on Wednesday morning 5 Shevat before the eviction from Amona, MK Oren Chazon told Channel 10 News that “the time has come for right-wing voters to stop being so forgiving towards those who made empty promises yet once again”.
Chazon explained that Naftali Bennet and others from Bayit Yehudi and Likud promised residents “you will not be taken off the hill”, adding that PM Netanyahu stated he would do his best, but “Never did he say it would not occur since he was aware of the High Court realities”.
Chazon questioned why the Bennet and so many others whom have been so outspoken in recent weeks and months are not present, demanding that voters remember this day when they go to the election booth in the next elections and “not to forget what was said and what is being done today”. He was particularly critical of Bayit Yehudi leader Bennet and party MK Betzalel Smotrich, who insisted the eviction of Jews from their homes is a red line for his party, yet Jews are being evicted again and they are nowhere to be found.
Speaking with Kol Berama Radio, Chazon added “it’s all a media game” explaining the persons mentioned make strong statement but when it comes to breaking from the government they are nowhere to be found. “I was willing to sit in opposition and not afraid to say it”, explaining if Amona is evicted the way it appears and the residents are not given a solution, “it will be evident by my actions in Knesset. I will not be a yes man. However, I am not the story, but it is the politicians who promised these people ‘you will not be taken from the mountain’ but when it came to pulling out and truly stopping this, they remained silent as they are today. These are people and after the Gush Katif expulsion I saw what occurred and today, we are here once again. I am fed up with politicians who promise and simply lie”.
Chazon explained he is part of Likud and therefore cannot break away since his seat belongs to the party, however, Bayit Yehudi spoke of red lines and consequences yet does nothing.
He reminds the media he always said Amona would be evicted because those with the power were not legislating legislation that could prevent it and they limited their actions to speaking to the media but they are unwilling to do what it really takes to prevent the eviction.

“Chazon explained he is part of Likud and therefore cannot break away since his seat belongs to the party” True but he could resign in protest. So could many of the other so called nationalist. But don’t hold your breath.
