Israel has announced plans to build 3,000 new homes in “settlements”, pressing forward with a construction binge that began after the inauguration of Donald Trump as U.S. president.
It appears to be aimed at calming anger over the impending court-ordered evacuation of Amona.
In a late-night statement Tuesday, Israel’s Defense Ministry said the latest construction was approved by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It comes days after the government approved an additional 2,500 homes in Yehuda and Shomron and hundreds more in east Jerusalem.

Don’t announce, build!
Please remember that announcing something is not the same as it actually happening. The GOI lies and manipulates constantly. It signed an agreement with the people of Amona and within a week reneged on it. Now let us see what all the “nationalists” in the government will do. Will they give up their soft, privileged jobs or will they (true to form) back peddle and explain why this is not such a serious problem?
